Little Footprints in the Sand - Our Philosophy

We believe that children learn best through play, which is a self-satisfying experience that encourages them to think, problem-solve, and use their imagination. Children develop and grow most effectively in a child-initiated, teacher-facilitated environment, where learning naturally occurs as they play and explore both in the classroom and outdoors. We provide a wide range of activities and experiences to support the development of cognitive, social, emotional, gross motor, and fine motor skills.

Our curriculum is rooted in developmentally appropriate practices that vary based on each class and individual child, using an emergent approach that responds to children’s needs, interests, and abilities. Educators strive to understand each child’s interests, fears, and personality in order to thoughtfully plan, implement, and evaluate a curriculum tailored to their group.

Our center utilizes learning centers to support growth and development, allowing children to choose from educator-prepared activities in areas such as literacy, math, blocks, dramatic play, science, art, music, puzzles, and books. Our ultimate desire is for each child to develop a love for God and others, strong self-esteem and confidence, and a lifelong love of learning.
